Learn the Solar system

Learn the Solar system is a AR app meant to help kids understand the Solar system by visualizing it in 3D, showing how big planets are and how they orbit the Sun.

The app uses Image targets and a Ground target. 

There are 9 image targets in total, 8 planets and a full Solar system. The targets are illustrations of the planets with their names and a Solar system illustration with information about it.

The planets are scaled in grouped proportions. The first four planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars) are scaled accurately in relation to each other, and the outer four planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) are also scaled accurately within their own group. Planetary rotation and orbit speeds are not set to real-time values, but they are mathematically adjusted to remain scientifically proportional. The Solar system model displays the relative size scale of the planets accurately (with the exception of the Sun, which is resized for visibility), while distances between objects are intentionally compressed for easier viewing.

There is 1 ground target with the full Solar system. 

It has proportional planetary scaling (excluding the Sun, which is resized for practicality), along with calculated orbit speed, rotation, and relative distances between planets. Due to its size, this target is best experienced when placed on the floor, allowing users to physically move around the model. Zooming in and out enables closer inspection of individual planets, while zooming out reveals the vast scale of the solar system-clearly showing how small Earth and the inner planets are compared to the overall system, and just how distant the outermost planets are.

There are buttons to stop and restart orbit and rotation.
