AR car model mystery box

This application is designed to provide a preview of the types of items a user could unbox from a mystery box. The target audience includes children as well as adults who have an interest in collecting model cars.

The problem this application addresses is the limited physical space available to showcase a large number of possible mystery box contents. Displaying every potential item in a traditional retail or packaging context is impractical.

Using augmented reality and Vuforia image targeting, the application allows users to preview the contents of two collections: Supercars and Retro Cars. By scanning the corresponding image, users can view a 3D model of a car that could be included in the mystery box.

In addition, the application features a ground plane mechanic that enables users to place a car onto the floor in their environment. This allows for closer inspection of the model from different angles, providing a more immersive and interactive experience.
